World Oceans Day Celebrated by Blue Green Foundation Bangladesh

On June 8th, 2017 World Oceans Day was celebrated by Blue Green Foundation in front of Chittagong Press Club, Chittagong, Bangladesh. A rally was held followed by a street meeting where the chief guest was Chittagong city corporation representative, 37 Munirnagar ward councilor, Md. Shafiul Alam. Among the other guests there were Dr. Mohammad Muslem Uddin, founder of the Blue Green Foundation and associate professor of Institute of Marine Sciences And Fisheries, University of Chittagong; Jewel Das, adviser of the Foundation and lecturer of Institute of Marine Sciences And Fisheries, University of Chittagong; Faiz M Taimur, adviser of the foundation and lecturer of Institute of Marine Sciences And Fisheries, University of Chittagong. "Government should pay more attention to extract resources from Bay of Bengal and thus to ensure a sustainable development for the country" said by Md. Shafiul Alam, the chief guest of the program. The president of the foundation Dr. Mohammad Muslem Uddin said " The development of Bay of Bengal is the development of Bangladesh". The other speakers also gave emphasis on the expansion of the ocean literacy in the country and claim the inclusion of ocean sciences in the syllabus of schools and colleges. Finally, a rally was held which came to end in front of Chittagong press club.
